1. General information
This subject tries to analyze at different scales the characteristics, situation and main problems of Europe, as well as its spatial delimitation through different criteria. The aim is for students to acquire the training that will enable them to understand the current organization of this territory, the interaction of the various geographical facts in specific spaces, as well as the homogeneity and diversity existing in the shaping of these facts in the European territory.
These approaches are aligned with the following Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030 : Goal 4. Goals. 4.4, 4.5; Goal 10: Goal 10.3; Goal 11: Goals 11.4, 11.a; Goal 13: Goals 13.1, 13.2, 13.3, 13.b; Goal 15: Targets 15.1, 15.2, 15.3, 15.4, 15.8, 15.9
2. Learning results
- Describe the natural and socioeconomic factors that organize territorial structures in Europe.
- To understand in a systemic, integrated and critical way the relationships between these natural and socioeconomic factors.
- Apply the general concepts of Geography to the European territory, explaining the processes and structural changes - Search, select and interpret the different existing sources of information for the European territory, from a critical and evaluative perspective.
- List and explain the different environmental problems affecting Europe, according to human activity, their origin, evolution and possible solutions.
- Correctly apply the geographical fundamentals necessary for the analysis of spatial and temporal contrasts identified in Europe.
- To correctly use the methods of territorial analysis at different scales, as a basis for its subsequent application to territorial and environmental planning.
- Transmit correctly, both orally and in writing, key aspects of the territorial structure of Europe, both from a physical and socio-economic point of view

1. Notion of Europe, meaning of its limits.
2. Relief.
3. Climate factors and climatic diversity. Climate change in Europe
4. Vegetation: large biogeographic units
5. Inland waters
6. Nature conservation in Europe
7. Demographic dynamics and population structure. The phenomenon of migrations as a key in the European population 8. Characteristics of the European urban system
9. The European rural area. The impact of the CAP.
10. Industrial activities and their new orientations
11. The expansion of tertiary activities
12. Conflicts and crises in today's Europe.
4. Academic activities
The learning activities to be developed during the course of the subejct are: lectures, case studies, seminars, practical work, personal study and passing a test. In addition, we plan to use virtual teaching platforms, in our case the Digital Teaching Ring (ADD) of the University of Zaragoza, where through the Moodle platform will be made available to the students the necessary materials for the development of the courses learning activities.
5. Assessment system

a) Continuous assessment
Test 1. Problem solving and case studies. The capacity for analysis, synthesis and reflection will be valued. 20% of the grade Test 2: Group work. The ability to search for information, coherence and the analysis exercise will be valued. 30% of the grade.
Test 3. Individual test on the contents of the course. The professor will propose three questions that the students will have to answer based on the bibliography, data and graphic and cartographic support that they consider. The ability to search for information, its coherence, presentation and the analysis exercise carried out will be valued at . 50% of the rating.
b) Overall assessment
Test 1. Individual work. The ability to search for information, its coherence, presentation and the analysis exercise will be valued. 40% of the final grade.
Test 2. Individual test on the contents of the subject. The presentation and the analysis exercise will be valued. 60% of the grade.
